The manager of a South Carolina Chick-fil-A was recruited to help ease traffic at a local drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination site that experienced an hour delay from a software glitch.
The mayor of Mount Pleasant, Will Haynie, sought the “professional drive thru experience” of the fast food manager to address the gridlock at a vaccination site at Seacoast Church last Friday, Fox 13 reported.
“Chic Fil A manager Jerry Walkowiak donating his professional drive thru experience to help our vaccination program in Mt Pleasant today. When you need help, call the pros,” the mayor tweeted.
A video posted by Haynie shows Walkowiak directing traffic and inquiring if vehicle occupants if have their paperwork.
Walkowiak managed to slash the wait time down to 15 minutes, the mayor told the news outlet.
