Candace Cameron Bure is explaining why her claws came out against Internet trolls who criticized her family’s Christmas photos.

“Mama bear, that’s what happened,” the “Fuller House” star 44, told “Extra” on Wednesday. “Listen, on social media, everyone gets criticized, and if you are a celebrity, it just comes with the territory and I can handle it, but the second someone starts to criticize my children or say negative things like that, mama bear comes out.”

She continued, “I just had to remind people that there are real people with real feelings behind the screen and I’m not posting for your negativity.”

Earlier this month, Bure shared a photo of herself posing alongside her husband, Valeri Bure, and the couple’s three children: daughter Natasha, 22, and sons Lev, 20, and Maksim, 18.

Some people commented at the time that Bure’s sons “looks stoned” and her daughter resembled “a Disney movie evil queen.”

The “Full House” star responded in a Facebook post, telling the critics, “Shame on you.”

“It doesn’t matter if you’re 10 or 90 years old, rude is rude,” she wrote. “If you don’t like something, just move on. There are people and real feelings behind every screen.”
